The Kestrel 2700 can only hold 1 gun profile at a time. You can store as many profiles in the Kestrel LiNK Ballistic app as you want however.

No, the Kestrel LiNK Ballistics app is needed to create a profile and load it on the Kestrel 2700.

This program only runs on Windows platforms. For 5700 units, it is required to use our USB connection cable to use this program

This program is used to transfer gun profiles to and from a Kestrel ballistics unit and Windows computer. 4500 Ballistic models can use either Bluetooth or the PC Interface cradle but must have fw version 4.93. 5700 models must use the USB Transfer cable to connect. Instructions included in zip file.

Applied Ballistics is now adding personal gun profiles to their bullet library. When choosing a profile, select the standard name of the profile without parentheses...if it the profile has a (name/characters) after it, it is someone's personal profile. For instance pick Berger Target Hybrid not Berger Target Hybrid(BW1402S)

There is no need to input the tapered base into the Kestrel.  If you measure scope height at the bell of the scope, the most your error will be is 1 – 2 clicks at 1000 yards. This can be offset by measuring to the center of the windage turret instead of the bell of the scope.  It is more likely that the scope click errors will do more harm than this will.
